Where Are We Headed?

Where are we headed

With all our standards lowered?

How can we move forward 

When our attitude resists

Our resolve to persist

Persevere, push, progress? 

We've complicated our problems 

Putting our destiny into the hands of inexperience 

Greed, deceit, arrogance 

Look at our systems

So thick with corruption

A lifetime is not enough to demolish 

Those who used to talk

And push for change

Have wilted, too weak to even cough

Why is the world full of hate? 

Where is our sense of shame? 

Why do we trade 

Our integrity for fame?
